Services & Engagement
Software development pricing varies significantly by project scope, complexity, timeline, and team composition. We do not publish fixed price lists because a meaningful quotation is only possible once we understand your specific requirements. We offer fixed-price project engagements where scope is well defined, and time-and-materials arrangements for projects where requirements are likely to evolve. All pricing discussions begin with a discovery conversation at no obligation to either party. Contact us to start that conversation.
Yes. We work with organisations of a range of sizes, from growing businesses requiring their first bespoke software system to larger enterprises running significant transformation programmes. The right fit depends on the specific requirement rather than company size. If you are unsure whether your project is the right scale for us, the most efficient way to find out is to contact our team for an initial conversation.
Timeline varies considerably by complexity. A focused internal tool or limited-scope web application might be delivered in six to ten weeks. A comprehensive platform with multiple integrated components, complex data models, and custom integrations could require six to twelve months. We establish clear timeline estimates during the discovery and scoping phase, and we manage projects carefully against those estimates throughout delivery. We will not commit to a timeline until we have a clear understanding of what is being built.
Yes, and in many cases this is the most effective arrangement. Our freelance developer placement service is specifically designed for organisations that have an existing development capability but need additional capacity, a specific skill set, or a more senior level of engineering expertise for a particular phase of a project. We can also provide consulting or architecture support alongside an existing internal team.
Yes. We offer post-launch support and maintenance arrangements tailored to each client's requirements. This ranges from a defined warranty period covering bug fixing and minor adjustments, through to a longer-term managed service retainer covering ongoing development, platform management, and technical support. Many of our client relationships are long-standing, with ongoing development work continuing well after the initial delivery.
Freelance Placement
All freelance developers placed by Globoforce UK are senior-level professionals with demonstrable production experience. We do not place junior developers or candidates who have not been assessed for both technical capability and professional conduct. When we present candidates for a placement, you can be confident that each one has the depth of experience appropriate for a senior technical role.
In many cases we can present suitable candidates within a few working days of receiving a brief. Mobilisation following candidate selection and contract agreement is typically rapid. The exact timeline depends on the specificity of the skill requirement and the notice periods of relevant candidates, but speed of placement is something we take seriously as a differentiator.
We are aware of the IR35 off-payroll working rules that apply to engagements in the UK. We work with clients and contractors to ensure that each placement is structured appropriately given the working arrangements, applicable legislation, and client status (public sector clients have specific obligations under the reformed IR35 rules). We recommend that both clients and contractors take their own professional advice on their specific circumstances.
Yes. You conduct whatever level of technical assessment you require before committing to an engagement. We facilitate the interview process but the decision to proceed rests entirely with you. We would not expect any client to engage a developer they had not had the opportunity to assess.
Getting Started
The simplest first step is to contact us via the form on our Contact page, or directly by email at info@globoforceltd.co.uk or by mobile on 07853 194 431. We will arrange an initial conversation to understand your requirement, ask relevant questions, and advise on the most appropriate approach. There is no obligation involved in an initial conversation.
Yes. All engagements are governed by a formal agreement that sets out scope, timeline, pricing, and terms of service. For project work this is typically a project agreement aligned with our standard Terms and Conditions. For freelance placements, we use a placement agreement covering the terms of the contractor engagement. We will always ensure both parties have a clear, agreed written basis before work begins.
For bespoke software development, the more context you can share about what you need to build, why, who will use it, what systems it needs to connect to, and when you need it, the more accurately we can estimate. For freelance placement, we need the role requirements, technology stack, engagement duration, and working arrangement. Even if your thinking is early-stage, a conversation is usually the best way to start.
